The Barkan Method of Hot Yoga is a style of Hatha Yoga that
originated from a lineage in Calcutta, India. The series of
26–30 postures done in a heated room (100º) is designed to
scientifically warm and stretch the muscles, ligaments and
tendons, in the order in which they should be stretched for
optimum benefit. The heat makes the exercise aerobic
(without impact on the joints), allows you to stretch deeper
while avoiding injury, and detoxifies the body. The result
is vastly improved balance, flexibility, strength, mental
clarity and focus. The class is suitable for beginners,
advanced yogis, or anyone in between. Bring a yoga mat and
water bottle.
