Don’t miss out on the fun Saturday, March 27, starting at 11 a.m. at Freysville Park! Bring your own Easter basket to collect plastic eggs filled with goodies, prizes and even some money! Additional prizes will be given for special prize eggs. Pre-registration is required. Participants can register at the Windsor Township Building or mail registration form to WARC, 1480 Windsor Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356. Deadline to register is March 19th. Ages 2-10 are welcome. Participants will be split into age groups: 2-4 yr. olds, 5-7 yr. olds, & 8-10 yr. olds for the egg hunt. Register now, space is limited! Cost is $4R/$6 NR.

Join WARC for our annual Chicken BBQ/Yard Sale on Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Freysville Park. Yard Sale spaces (10’ X 10’) are available for $15 each. Sellers are expected to provide their own table. Those who wish to register a yard sale space must register by Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Vendor applications are available (Registration Form) or at the Windsor Township Building. Chicken BBQ tickets may be pre-purchased at the Windsor Township Building. The cost is $7.50 per ticket and includes ½ chicken, baked potato, applesauce, roll and butter. No drinks provided. Chicken BBQ dinners may be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Celebrate spring by joining your community to help clean up the parks. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 1. We need your help to make our parks look great and safe for the little ones. Painting, sealing, trash and debris pick-up, and planting flowers will be among the many things we will be working on this day at Freysville Park and Windsor Borough Park. Please be sure to bring your own shovels, rakes, and gardening gloves. Windsor Township will provide a few extra supplies. Volunteers are invited to a thank-you cook-out at noon at the Freysville Park pavilion. Call 244-3512 to add your name to this year’s Community Day volunteer list. A great day for students needing hours of service for school and extra-curricular clubs!

Thursday, May 27, 2010, 3 - 7 p.m.

Summer is the time of year where blood supply is usually low. Join Windsor Township in hosting a blood drive for South Central PA. The Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank bus will be coming to the Windsor Township Building on Thursday, May 27, from 3-7 p.m. to collect blood from community members to help community members. This is totally a volunteer program. Interested blood givers are encouraged to pre-register through Windsor Area Recreation Commission by calling 244-3512; walk-ins are welcome. No fee will be charged. One blood donation can save up to 3 lives— Be a Hero!

Saturday, July 31, 2010, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

On Saturday, July 31, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., join Shank’s Mare for their First Art & Outdoor Fest to be held on Shank’s Mare’s 32nd anniversary.  This event will feature local artists displaying their work in booths on the front porch and grounds.  Local outdoor, historic, and cultural organizations will also be present offering information on the wide array of activities and programs in our area.  Enjoy food and ice cream at the Lock 2 Café, and we’ll top off the day with live music.  Spend the day savoring the flavor of the Susquehanna with art, activity, food and entertainment.  Watch for details!

Saturday, October 16, 2010, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

There will be a Fall Craft Show on Saturday, October 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a location to be announced. Arts and craft vendors will be present, and admission is free.  Vendor spaces are available at a cost of $20 per space (10’x10’).  Vendors are responsible for bringing their own tables and set-up.   No food/drink vendors.  Some baked goods and candies allowed; please inquire.  All vendor registrations must be received by September 17, and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.  Vendor registration forms are available at the Township Building or on our website (Registration Form). Please be specific when writing on the form what items you will be selling.  Set-up time for vendors is 7 a.m.  For more information, call WARC at 244-3512.
