Recreation Director
Plan, direct and supervise the operation of the Windsor Area Recreation Commission, a regional recreation commission serving Windsor Township, Windsor Borough and the Red Lion Area School District in York County PA. Example of duties: Supervise and coordinate over 75 youth sports teams on an annual basis; coordinate, train and supervise employees and volunteers; programming for sports, personal enrichment, day camp, special events and trips/tours; work with local officials, volunteers and members of the community; prepare and coordinate budget as well as accounting for the commission; update and maintain the commission’s website; write reports and give oral presentations; prepare program guides; prepare materials for monthly board meetings; maintain registration database; serve in customer service capacity. You may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative in reviewing, developing and implementing commission programs and policies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven verbal, and written communication skills, computer skills, strong customer service skills and leadership abilities is a must. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience in parks and recreation is required. Applicants should have considerable knowledge of a variety of recreational and cultural activities suitable for children, youth, and adults. Attainment of Certified Parks and Professional certification is preferred. Preference will be given to those with experience in the fields of parks and recreation. Arts and Crafts We are seeking individuals with expertise in Arts and Crafts and Country Line Dancing to teach courses in those areas. Previous experience and knowledge in the area is required. Those who have a strong desire to pass along knowledge to others are encouraged to apply. Individuals will be responsible for planning and implementing course work in the area.
